Release notes

What changes and when. Updates ship continuously while Beamlabel is in beta.

v1.0.19

Aug 2026
  • Box labels: an optional setting that prints one extra label the first time each buyer wins, showing their box number, name and the show date — put it on their box, and every later slip for that buyer carries the same number. A "New box" button on any sale starts their next box when one fills up. The box label and the sale slip print together as one job. Off by default.
  • Fixed: a label could print twice. When a payment failed and the buyer paid again later, that second payment was treated as a brand-new sale — printing a duplicate slip, and inflating the revenue and item counts for the show.
  • Labels now print the moment an auction closes, instead of waiting for the payment to clear. You can switch back under Settings → Print timing.
  • One computer at a time: signing in on another computer signs the first one out, after a five-minute warning that keeps printing until the timer ends.
  • New Help button in the title bar: fixes for the most common problems, a link to the full guides, and a pre-filled support email. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you send it yourself.
  • Settings are grouped into sections — Label, Printing, Alerts, Account — so the page is easier to scan.
  • Fixed: the subscribe screen showed three empty checkmarks and a broken image where the logo belongs.
  • Fixed: signing out with a show still open raised a "Subscription required" message for every sale, with a button that did nothing.
  • Fixed: starting checkout again while already subscribed could create a second subscription.

v1.0.18

Jul 2026
  • Closing the app no longer signs you out of BeamLabel. Quitting could race the hourly session renewal and strand you at the sign-in screen on the next launch — that whole class of logout is gone, and only one copy of the app can run at a time.
  • Labels for sales without a "#number" now use the same layout as everything else, instead of a half-empty label that looked broken next to its neighbors.
  • A number you write at the start of a listing title stays in the title — it is never mistaken for the item number.
  • New setting: giveaway labels. On by default; turn it off and giveaway wins show in your feed without printing a slip.
  • Creating an account now happens at beamlabel.com — the app is for signing in. New accounts are protected by a bot check on the website.
  • The app keeps a local log file, so if something ever misbehaves, support can actually see what happened instead of guessing.
  • Security updates under the hood.

v1.0.17

Jul 2026
  • Staying signed in to Whatnot now works properly. Signing in with Google left the app holding two copies of each session cookie, which Whatnot rejected — so you were asked to sign in again after quitting the app, and sometimes when opening another show. One sign-in now lasts.

v1.0.16

Jul 2026
  • Printing keeps going through a network drop. The sale monitor now reconnects on its own for as long as it takes, instead of giving up after a few seconds and staying quiet until you restarted the app.
  • A pulsing amber dot shows when the connection is down, so an outage is something you see rather than something you discover from a silent printer.
  • Multiple copies of the same item to the same buyer now print a label each. Repeat wins were being read as duplicate notifications and skipped.
  • Labels now recognize item numbers written without a "#" — like "1225617 - Louis Vuitton Sarah Wallet" — so those sales get the big item-number layout too, instead of the number staying stuck to the title.
  • Staying signed in to Whatnot: fixed a session problem that could log you out when you opened another show.
  • Shows opened from the Whatnot Lives page now feed the app properly instead of opening in a window it could not see.
  • The app opens on your last show if you were just watching one, and on Whatnot otherwise — no more landing on a stale stream from days ago.
  • Starting up can no longer hang on a slow connection: within a few seconds you get the app or the sign-in screen.
  • Print timing is now clearly the payment setting: leave it off and only paid sales print; turn it on and labels print the moment an auction ends, including sales whose payment later fails. Turning it on explains that once.
  • The Print button on a sale always prints, whatever the payment status.
  • Updated Terms of Service, with the accuracy points stated in plain language where they matter.
  • Windows: the installer now updates your existing copy in place instead of creating a second one.

v1.0.15

Jul 2026
  • New label size: 3½ × 1⅛ — standard address labels (Dymo/Zebra 30252), in the compact big-item-number style.

v1.0.14

Jul 2026
  • New: "Sign out of Whatnot" in Settings — fully clears the session on this computer, including the saved Google login.
  • Logging out now sticks: it can no longer come back after restarting the app.
  • Google sign-in is patient with slower machines — the Chrome window gets up to a minute to open instead of closing on you.

v1.0.13

Jul 2026
  • Google sign-in now lands you in the app fully signed in — no more restarting to get past the Whatnot login page.
  • Fixed a black screen after login on older Intel Macs.
  • A minimized or lost sign-in window can no longer block later attempts.

v1.0.12

Jul 2026
  • Fixed: the label-size dropdown is now readable in dark mode on Windows.
  • Long item titles fit better on the 3×2 label.

v1.0.11

Jul 2026
  • Two new label sizes: 3×2 and 3×1 — both in the compact, big-item-number print style.

v1.0.10

Jul 2026
  • Universal Mac build — BeamLabel now runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
  • Windows updated to match.

v1.0.9

Jul 2026
  • Reliability pass: auto-print fires dependably on every sale type — auctions, Buy It Now, and giveaways.
  • A failed print now recovers cleanly instead of getting stuck, with a clear notice.
  • Live sale monitoring reconnects on its own if it drops mid-show.
  • The end-of-show report always includes every sale, even on 500+ sale shows.
  • New: a "payment failed" flag on the sale feed, so you never ship an unpaid order.
  • New: a labels-printed counter (today + all-time).
  • Prints sync promptly to your account, plus security & stability hardening throughout.
