Getting started
From download to your first auto-printed label in about five minutes.
This is the full path from a fresh download to labels printing themselves during a live show. If you’ve already installed the app, skip ahead to Connect your show.
Install the app
Download BeamLabel for your platform from beamlabel.com and run the installer.
- Mac — open the
.dmgand drag BeamLabel into your Applications folder. The build is signed and Apple-notarized, so Gatekeeper shows the normal one-click “downloaded from the internet” prompt — no Terminal workaround needed. It’s a universal app: it runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. - Windows — run the
.exeinstaller. It’s code-signed; if SmartScreen shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” banner while the new signing certificate builds reputation, click More info → Run anyway.
Sign in and start your trial
Open BeamLabel and sign in with the account you created on the website. New accounts get a free trial — the card is collected up front, but the first charge is deferred until the trial ends, so you can run a full show before you pay anything.
Your subscription is managed from your account on the web, not inside the app. You can cancel there any time.
Connect your show
BeamLabel reads your live sales straight from Whatnot, so it needs you to be logged in.
- Click Open Whatnot (or paste your show link) inside the app.
- Log into Whatnot in the window that appears — the same email and password you always use. You only do this once; the app remembers you.
- Start or open your live show. BeamLabel begins watching the sale feed automatically and shows sales as they land.
You’ll know it’s connected when new sales start appearing in the app’s live list.
Choose your printer and label size
- Open Settings and pick your thermal printer from the Printer dropdown. If it isn’t listed, see Printers & setup first.
- Choose a Label size that matches the labels physically loaded in your printer. This is the single most important setting — a mismatch here is the number-one cause of blank or doubled labels. If you run 4×6 shipping labels, choose 4×6. See Label sizes for the full rundown.
- Toggle which fields appear on the label — item number, buyer, price, time, title, and your custom footer line.
Run a test print
Hit Test print in Settings. A sample slip should come out clean, correctly oriented, and filling the label. If it doesn’t:
- Blank label? → It prints blank labels
- More than one label? → It prints several labels per sale
- Cut off or sideways? → Labels are cut off, tiny, or sideways
Get the test print right before you go live — it’s the same code path every real sale uses, so a clean test means clean labels all night.
Go live
Start selling. Each time a sale closes, BeamLabel prints its slip in real time. At the end of the show you can export the full run as a CSV, and your labels-printed counter — today and all-time — lives right in the app.
One nicety worth knowing: if a buyer’s payment fails, that sale is flagged in the feed so you don’t ship an unpaid order.
